A day in a life of

   Odette-Josphine Fern

It’s six o’clock, so I’m slowly waking up and get out of bed to make a cup of coffee for myself – oh God, how I love coffee -. After my morning-me-time, the bell rings, and I’m happy to see it’s Robert at my doorstep. He invites me to take a walk among the beach, isn’t that romantic? When we’re walking, we pass a small restaurant where all the food gets crushed, so it’s easier -beside my new pair of teeth- to eat for us. In the noon, I go to my shop and open the doors to welcome everyone who needs a small talk or new draperies. The shop doesn’t open that often because I retired but I hate admitting it’s already over. And there you have Gerard, he passes everyday to talk about the weather and how he misses his wife. Actually he’s the most grumpy one of all the people I know. But I can see at the flickering in his eyes that he really loved her ‘till the very end, it’s kind of cute. Then it’s six PM, time to close my shop. I’m having a date with Robert, so I need to hurry up a little. Robert and I are always laughing with each other, but also deep conversations can pass from time to time, he really is my soulmate. Again, after an unforgettable evening with him, I come home and I’m tired as a 69 year old woman. So I get in bed, pray to The God of Ages and go to sleep.
